His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah emphasises the importance of navigating an increasingly dynamic and evolving economic and energy landscape, particularly in light of the challenges arising from geopolitical instability and the need to remain competitive, resilient, and agile to safeguard their long‐term success and value.
His Majesty also highlights continued priority on safety, effective leadership, and competency development, including strengthening talent, organisational capabilities, and fostering a high‐performance culture. This remains critical in ensuring long‐term sustainability and value in supporting national aspirations. His Majesty made the titah while chairing the 418th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei Shell Petroleum Sendirian Berhad (BSP) and the 196th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei Shell Marketing Sendirian Berhad (BSM) for the First Quarter of 2026. The meeting took place at the Prime Minister's Office.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy and Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Deputy Minister for Energy at the Prime Minister's Office in their capacity as members of the BSP and BSM Board of Directors. The meeting also deliberated on key matters including safety, operational performance, financials, and manpower development of both BSP and BSM. It was also attended by key stakeholders including Shareholder Directors representing His Majesty's Government and Shell PLC, as well as members of the respective Management from BSP and BSM. This marked the end of the Brunei Shell Joint Venture (BSJV) Companies Board Meetings for the First Quarter of 2026.
